The Moua family has been dealing with a lack of communication between the parents and the children. There are many Hmong traditions that the children do not want to keep up with, which drives a wedge between the parents and children. One day Grandpa gets ill. The two Moua children discover a piece of their grandfather’s story cloth that takes them on a spiritual journey to the past to see the lives their elders once lived, along with the many sacrifices that were made on their journey to America.. They return from their journey with a newfound understanding of what their parents went through as refugees. Will this journey be enough to mend the rifts that have grown within the family?
Along with the play, there will be a streamline of performances, highlighting traditional folk songs by Paaj Her Vaaj-Mong United Association and Bee-Vang Moua, a community expert on traditional Hmong clothing & fashion!
