Minnesota Dance Theatre audience favorite Carmina Burana returns to the stage, featuring Loyce Houlton’s original choreography reimagined as a total theater experience by choreographer and MDT Artistic Director Emerita Lise Houlton (with Dominique Serrand).
The MDT dancers join the Minnesota Chorale, stellar musicians, and acclaimed vocalists Anthony Potts, Linh Kauffman, and Gary Ruschman for an electrifying dance and musical performance set to Carl Orff’s brilliant score.
Drawing inspiration from the silent songs of 13th century vagrant monks’ poetic homage to passion, Carmina Burana brings the earthly rumblings of love and lust, mixed with the human pangs of fortune and fate, to a fully expressive celebration in a hedonistic romp of bodies, music, and movement.
